What are the Visa requirements for my family and friends to visit?

A valid passport, as well as a tourist card (Visa), is necessary for U.S. citizens to enter Panama. Your air carrier will provide you with a tourist card at the airport for $5.00. You may visit the country for up to 30 days with the option of renewing your visa for an additional 60 days at the Immigration office. If you wish to spend more time, simply cross the border to Costa Rica, spend at least 72 hours outside the country, and start the process all over again. Panamanian Customs allows you to bring in one carton of cigarettes and three bottles of liquor. And when leaving the country, be sure to set aside $20 for the departure tax.
